1500 Watt Inverter – Lowering your Energy Bill with One

Alternative sources of energy are an investment that all of us have likely considered at some point. Whether you're traveling or using it at home, a power inverter can be used for a variety of different things. On the road, it's great for camping. And many mobile businesses use them for their displays during festivals and events, powering sound systems or refrigeration systems. One novel use for a high wattage power inverter, however, is to use it to lower your power bill substantially. While it isn't an option for everyone, clever homeowners can take some steps towards 'getting off the grid' with the help of a 1500 watt inverter.

A 1500 watt inverter isn't enough to power your entire home, but it can provide power to a few appliances or electronic devices and drop your bill tremendously. An inverter connects to a battery, such as a 12 volt car or marine battery, and converts the energy stored inside the battery into AC electricity that you can use to plug any of your appliances or electronics into. Simply adding one to your home will help your bill, but you'll have to have a way to keep the battery fully charged. This is where renewable energy comes into the equation.

Renewable energy is the key to using a 1500 watt inverter at home. Wind or solar energy are the two most commonly used renewable energy sources for the homeowner, and adding a wind turbine or a few solar panels to your home is less difficult than most realize and will qualify you for a tax break when tax season rolls around. By connecting these power sources to a battery, you can attach your inverter to the batteries and then to the items you want to power with it. Most people attach multiple batteries to the system since the wind or solar collectors can charge a battery faster than most electronics will drain it.

This simple system works in a chain €" the solar or wind energy is stored in the batteries and the inverter transfers the power into a form that you can use. Many people add systems like this to an outbuilding, shed, or greenhouse to avoid having to run electricity from their home to the new structure. Others use it to power a couple of appliances and slash their electricity bill. Whatever your specific use may be, utilizing a 1500 watt inverter and renewable energy can help you lower energy costs and move a little closer towards energy independence.
