Where will you choose to stay in Red River Gorge? There are plenty of inns, like the Red River Gorgeous, in and around the park, or you and a group of friends could rent a Red River Gorge cabin. If you want to rough it, accessible land is available for camping. Plan your lodging. - 2
The Natural Bridge.
Hike up to Natural Bridge and stand above the world, 65 feet! The official Red River Gorge website calls it "probably the most visited arch in Kentucky" (of which there are 150 in Red River Gorge alone). Once you're on top of it, it's easy to see why. The trek isn't easy. Many stairs are involved. But it's one of the most satisfying attractions at the Red River Gorge. - 3). Other geological formations to check out while you're at the Gorge: Chimney Top, Double Arch, Creation Falls, Rock Bridge, Pinch 'Em Tight. The list goes on and on. Lots of nature photography opportunities.
- 4). Head on over to Miguel's Pizza for dinner or lunch. Not far from the interstate, Miguel's Pizza has been serving the faithful KY rock climbing contingent for years. The food is delicious and the location is convenient. If you are a climber, you can pitch a tent right in Miguel's backyard for cheap.
- 5). The Kentucky River Gorge boasts hundreds of miles of trails. Below, I've linked to a website with maps of the trails, so you can be prepared for your Red River Gorge hiking adventures.
