- 1). Soak the Mondra seeds to prepare them for planting. Fill a small bowl with warm water, add the seeds and allow them to soak, undisturbed for at least 24 hours. The soaking will soften the seeds, which will help with germination.
- 2). Fill a seed starter tray with sterile potting soil. Bury one seed per pot, 1/4 inch into the soil. Moisten the soil with a spray bottle filled with water.
- 3). Cover the seed tray with its plastic top or plastic wrap. Place the seed tray in an area that receives filtered sunlight. Only lift the lid to moisten the soil, when necessary.
- 4). Remove the lid when the seeds begin to germinate--approximately four to 12 weeks. Keep the soil moist at all times.
- 5). Transplant the Mondra in a sunny area with well-drained soil when the seedlings grow their first set of true leaves (second set of leaves). Space individual Mondra seedlings at least 3 feet apart to allow for spreading.
- 6). Water the Mondra regularly with a soaker hose. Supply the Mondra plants with at least 1 inch of water every week until established. After the first growing season, Mondra rarely requires watering.
- 7). Fertilize the Mondra at least once a year with a slow-release fertilizer. Check the label on the fertilizer package for allocation amounts and time frames.
