Disaster Date

Hope met Aiden for their date, where everything that could go wrong did go wrong. The waiter spilled a tray a food all over Aiden. Then, Aiden got a text that the matinee he planned to take Hope to had been canceled. The duo took things in stride and looked forward to their next date.

Past Exposed

Daniel introduced Kayla to new hospital intern Paige. Later, Kayla spoke to a patient named Lucy, who had been raped.

Kayla assured the young woman what happened wasn't her fault and revealed that she was a rape survivor. Paige overheard Kayla say she knew her attacker.

Eve confronted JJ about cheating on Paige. JJ said he'd been drugged and set up. He took Eve to see Daniel, who explained tests proved JJ was given a roofie. "So he was taking drugs," countered Eve. Daniel insisted JJ wasn't. Eve accused Daniel of taking JJ's side to score points with Jennifer. Daniel accused Eve of disapproving of JJ, because she hated Jennifer.

Eve spat that JJ was just like Jack. JJ walked in as Daniel was defending him and argued with Eve. Eve left, vowing to expose the real JJ to Paige and saying he was no longer welcome in their home. Daniel gave JJ a key to his place to spend alone time with Paige.

Gunning for JJ

Eve found Jennifer and ordered her to keep JJ away from Paige. Jennifer refused, saying JJ was  set up. Then, she accused Eve of being the one behind it. Meanwhile, Paige met with JJ and swore she didn't care what her mom thought of him.

She told him about overhearing Kayla saying she'd been raped and asked if he knew about it. A nervous JJ admitted he did.

Jennifer followed Eve home, where they had it out over Jack and JJ. The spat ended with Jennifer smacking Eve. After Jennifer left, Paige returned and went at it with her mother over JJ. Jennifer went home and filled JJ in on her run-in with Eve. JJ said Eve was going after him and came to the realization that she had to tell Paige the truth about Kayla and Jack.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible Danger

Kristen phoned Stefano and informed him the charges against her had been dropped, yet she had a feeling of dread that she couldn't explain. Across town, EJ received a surprise visit from his mother Susan. She warned she'd had a premonition that he was in "terrible, terrible terrible danger." EJ swore all was fine. He'd just gotten married. Susan called Sami a "spawn of Satan."

Sami appeared and made light of Susan's premonition. When Marlena arrived, EJ and Sami headed out to attend a business meeting. Susan and Marlena discussed their past and John's accident. Marlena got a text summoning her back to the hospital and left. Susan was about to leave, when she opened the front door and saw Kristen.

Susan called Kristen "evil" and said EJ was in danger because of her. Kristen said EJ was in danger because of Sami. She phoned Stefano and informed him that Susan was at the mansion. Stefano ordered a petrified Susan to leave. Kristen told Stefano she'd find his will and get it to him. 

Parting Gift

Susan showed up at the hospital and snuck into John's room. She reminisced about their time together. Later, Maxine and Daniel found a wedding photo of John and Kristen on his nightstand.

Time Alone

Clyde offered to give Ben some money; no strings attached. Ben wasn't interested. He headed off to meet Abigail and took her to a hotel where dinner was set up for the two of them. Abigail was impressed by the special setting and they kissed. The pair ended up making love.

Seeing Things Clyde's Way

EJ and Clyde had a business meeting. Clyde said he could be making money for EJ. EJ wanted to keep their arrangement as is. Someone appeared and Clyde said he wished he could make Mr. DiMera see things his way. EJ called Stefano to say he'd get back what they lost, but warned his father couldn't do anything about him and Sami reconciling.

Sami found Kristen at the mansion and wanted to confront her about what she did to Eric and Brady. Kristen turned the conversation toward EJ. She said he laughed when she first told him what she did to Eric. EJ arrived home and received a goodbye text from Susan warning him to be careful, because evil still lurked. Sami told EJ what Kristen told her. He said he told Kristen it was appalling. They hugged and kissed. 

Charming or Calculating?

Clyde told a surprised Rafe about his date with Kate. Kate and Chad met to discuss Stefano. Later, Jordan told Chad that Ben was her brother. Rafe ran into Kate and asked about her dating Clyde, noting that something was wrong with him. Jordan had run away to hide from him. Jordan appeared and warned Kate to take it slow with Clyde. She accused Kate of playing games by dating him. Kate called him "charming." Jordan countered that Clyde was the type of man Kate deserved.

Clyde and Jeremiah met and talked about selling the product and double their territory. Clyde vowed to take EJ down. Jeremiah wondered if this was similar to a past solution. If it was, the DiMera family would be after Clyde.

Spreading the Reconciliation News 

Nicole happened on EJ and asked if he was happy Kristen got away with raping Eric. EJ countered that it was deplorable, and he had nothing to do with Kristen since her return. EJ told Nicole that he and Sami reconciled. She laughed. He called her bitter, noting she was still in love with Eric. They agreed to put their past behind them.

Sami told Eric about her reconciliation with EJ, adding that EJ was horrified by what Kristen did to him. Eric said he'd accept EJ if he was the man she wanted. EJ returned home and told Kate to move out. Kate left a message for Chad saying she had information about EJ for Stefano. Sami met up with Nicole, who admitted hearing that she and EJ had reconciled, again. She wished them well. 

Breaking Up with Bo

Hope broke the news to Victor and Maggie that she was filing for divorce from Bo and that she'd met someone: Aiden. Victor reacted positively, noting she shouldn't have to live her life in limbo. Hope said that Caroline didn't react quite as well. Victor visited Caroline and said she was judgmental. Caroline cried that everyone had given up on Bo. Victor said he hadn't, but Bo did abandon Hope. 

Chase spotted Aiden with Nicole and assumed she was her dad's date. Aiden sets him straight. Hope approached and Nicole realized she was his date. Hope was worried, because she hadn't shared the news to Ciara. Caroline summoned Hope and apologized to her, adding that she respected Hope's decision to move on.

John Awakens

Kristen phoned Daniel for an update on John. He wasn't forthcoming. Meanwhile, John awakened in his hospital room and remembered not be welcomed with open arms by Brady or Marlena when he returned to Salem. He asked why he was in the hospital. Marlena left Brady to tell John he hit him and knocked him out. "No, son. You didn't do that," responded John. Brady said it was true and he was sorry. Daniel explained to John that he'd been in a coma for months.

Theresa was happy, when Brady said John didn't remember much. Daniel told Marlena and company  he expected John to make a full recovery. Marlena visited John and they had a touching reunion. John asked to see Eric. They spoke about the day he was hit and how they'd been talking about Theresa. Alone, John remembered Theresa was the one who hit him.

Prison Bound?

Daniel taunted Theresa by asking her if she'd ever seen the inside of Statesville prison. She vowed to ruin him. if she's ever seen Statesville - from the inside. Theresa threatens to ruin him. Later, Eric told Theresa that John's memory was returning.

Marlena and Brady talked about getting John back. Brady knew he'd have to thank Kristen. Meanwhile, Kristen showed up at Daniel's door. The twosome agreed that they couldn't let Theresa get away with what she did to John.

 

A Showdown Is Coming

EJ asked Kate to leave the mansion. Kate said as co-CEO, the manse was part of her package. Kate told EJ she had access to all the files and knows he and Stefano have been siphoning money from the board for years. EJ gulped.

Later, Victor met EJ in the park with a check. He said Stefano had put the word out that nobody was to extend credit to him. Victor sensed a showdown coming and wanted a ringside seat.
