- 1). Adjust your watchband in a room with adequate lighting to make it easier to see the tiny band components. Select a desk, table or other flat surface where you can comfortably add links to your stretchable watch band. Spread an optical cleaning cloth over your work surface to protect your watch face from scratches or scuffs. Lay your watch face-down on the optical cleaning cloth.
- 2). Search for the metal flaps on the edge of your watchband. Use an optical-sized flat-head screwdriver to bend down the flaps at the section of the band you want to separate to add the links.
- 3). Spin your watch around so that the band's other edge is now facing you. Bend down the same number of flaps directly to the left of the flaps you bent down on the other side.
- 4). Grasp the stretchable watchband on either side of the section you want to separate. Slide one side of the stretchable band forward with one hand while sliding the other side backward with the opposite hand. This will separate your stretchable watchband so that it will lay flat.
- 5). Line up your extra watch link with the last link on either side of your watchband. Thread the links together and fold up the metal tabs on both sides of the link section to add it to your band. Repeat this step to add additional watch links, as desired. Use this same process to rejoin the two ends of your stretchable watchband to form a continuous loop and complete your band adjustment.
