- 1). Place peanut butter in your wooden mouse traps. Then pull the lever back and latch it. Make sure you do not do this until after you have placed your children and pets in another room. You don't want them sneaking up on you and accidentally getting a finger or paw caught in the mouse trap.
- 2). Set the wooden mouse traps in areas of the house where your children and animals can not get to them. Behind a washer or dryer is a good spot. Another good spot would be on a high shelf.
- 3). Board up your house. Look for small cracks where a mouse could get in. Caulk it shut. If the hole is larger, use a board and some nails. This will stop other mice from getting in your home. It will also force the mice in your home to come out and look for food. They will fall right in to your trap.
- 4). Put on a pair of plastic gloves. This is a safety precaution so that you do not get any diseases from the mouse. Pick up the mouse trap and open up the lever to remove the dead mouse.
- 5). Place the mouse in a plastic zipper bag and close the bag shut.
- 6). Throw the plastic bag in the trash can.
- 7). Repeat until you have caught all of the mice.
