Putting Your Life First - Taking Care of Yourself With Raw Foods

The pressures of family life, especially for women, can sometimes result in a neglect of personal health in pursuit of producing a healthy lifestyle for the rest of the family.
For some women, the schedule is a gruelling round of cooking, cleaning, washing and ironing, interspersed with holding down a full time job and helping other members of the family pursue their hobbies and interests outside of school, college and work.
It certainly is not fair that one person should have to shoulder responsibility for so many others but the fact is that many women do and would not wish to change their commitment to their family's well being, despite being driven to distraction on a daily basis! A healthier eating plan might be within easy reach by introducing some raw food options for women who lead a frantic lifestyle.
Part of the problem with eating cooked food is that more than 70% of the nutrients contained in raw food are 'cooked out' through boiling, roasting and frying.
Frazzling our food seems to be a time worn tradition of the human race and one that is difficult to replace with healthier habits! By using a good quality cold press masticating juicer, a large quantity of raw food may be consumed as a delicious drink.
Preparation required is minimal and in fact may be organised along with all the traditional food preparations associated with cooking the family breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The beauty of 'drinking' raw foods is that little time is required to introduce the food into the body and once there, the nutrients digested get to work in record time, producing a higher energy level and improving any number of natural body resistances to disease, infection and general malady.
Raw foods are a suitable alternative to cooked options for the whole family but invariably it is Mom who pioneers an introduction in an effort to improve her own health.
Raw food is undeniably unappetising when presented in its raw state and impossible to digest in a short period of time due the amount of chewing required before it can be swallowed.
However, when juiced into a tasty drink, it is easy to consume four or five items of fruits or vegetables within a few minutes.
Taking the raw food option is the first step on the road to recovering a healthy eating regime and often is the starting point for a whole new way of life for women who struggle to find the energy to produce three or four cooked meals per day for a ravenous family.
As energy levels and general health improve, it is not long before the lady of the house starts to realise the whole family could be benefiting from this healthy way of eating and begins introducing juiced raw foods to family members of all ages, from the baby on up to Grandpa! To start a raw food regime, begin by purchasing an efficient juicer.
