- 1). Find the spot where you want to set your first hook. Mark this area with a pencil.
- 2). Use a laser level to point straight across the wall or window area. Mark the spot where you want your second hook to go, using the laser line as a guide. Have a helper assist you in either holding the laser level or marking the spot, if necessary.
- 3). Push two eye hooks into the areas you have marked. If the hooks don't push in by hand, use a drill to make a small beginner hole, and then push the hooks in the rest of the way.
- 4). Use a tape measure to find the length between the two hooks. Add 8 inches to this measurement. Use a wire cutter to cut the measured amount of aircraft cable from its spool.
- 5). Thread one end of the aircraft cable through one of the eye hooks on the wall. Bend the threaded end back over to the wire to create a loop. Secure this loop with a wire rope clip.
- 6). Thread the opposite end of the aircraft cable through the circular part of a turnbuckle. Bend the threaded end of the cable back to itself to create a loop. Secure this loop with a wire rope clip.
- 7). Insert the hook end of the turnbuckle (with the cable attached to it) into the remaining eye hook on the wall. Tighten the turnbuckle until the wire is taut.
- 8). Attach curtain rings around the wire. Attach a curtain by threading the rings through its holes.
