I found out about this campground on the Internet, and I tent camped there in August 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
This is an RV campground in Wells, ME. We were supposed to stay two nights, but we left after the first night.
Pros: none
Cons: Worst campground I have ever stayed in. Not a family friendly campground. Actually, not even a campground. 95% RVs with a small tent camping section in the back.
Owner's wife was extremely rude. She patrols the grounds in a golf cart like this is the border between North and South Korea. Ridiculous rules, such as you cannot even step into the woods around your site or touch anything, including deadwood for kindling. Treated like children by owner's wife. Have to leave a $5 deposit for a bathroom key. I guess there is an epidemic of people relieving themselves for free in coastal Maine. Playground run down and filled with what looks like equipment bought at garage sales. Rec barn just as run down. Camp store is a joke. It has two candy bars and a can of Coke and not much else. We were supposed to stay two days, but left after the first night. I was afraid to step foot off my designated area (owner's wife's words) for fear of being ejected. Do not stay at this campground.
Nearby attractions: Wells, Ogunquit beaches, many tourist things.
Further comments:
Worst camping experience of my life. Very rude treatment. Ridiculous rules. Do not stay here.
