- 1). Get a land survey done showing your property lines, and the property lines of the USFS land that you are disputing. Only a licensed land surveyor in your state can perform a land survey that is valid.
- 2). Contact the BLM's Division of Lands, Realty and Cadastral Survey. Inform the division of your dispute and mail it your sealed land survey. Wait for its answer, and see if it agrees it was a mistake.
- 3). If the BLM does not agree with your land survey, contact a real estate attorney and inform him of the situation. The attorney can help file a suit on your behalf to take proper claim of property.
