Effective and Natural Ways to Increase Libido in Women

Libido is defined as the sexual drive in men and women. Many women experience low sex drive or low libido at some point in their life. The reason for a low drive for sex could be due to some physical factor or even due to psychological factors. Such women who are suffering from this would want to increase libido to derive pleasure and improve the sexual relationship with the partner.

The conditions that can cause low libido in women can be changes in hormones like in a situation of pregnancy. This can be the reason for temporary decline in the sexual desire. Vaginal dryness as noticed after menopause can also lead to a low libido in some women. Other factors are alcoholism, obesity, drugs, illness or child birth. Some medications like anti depressants can result in low sex drive. The psychological factors that can affect a woman's desire are stress, depression, anxiety, over work or some traumatic past experience.

To increase libido in women, one needs to first identify the reason which is causing it. A visit to the doctor would be the first step in order to identify if there is some kind of physical issue which is causing the condition. Once the medical reason is established, steps can be taken to increase libido in the person. If it is due to some underlying disease or medical issue, medication will be given to cure that problem which may help indirectly for the woman to feel better.

Vaginal dryness is common in women, especially older women and can cause low libido in women. Nowadays, there are various creams and ointments available in the market which aid in lubricating the vagina, therefore claim to increase libido in women. Another therapy is the testosterone therapy but this can have some negative effects on a woman. If there is no physical reason for the low sex drive, it is better to visit a specialist to understand the emotional and psychological factors causing the low libido.

There is no magic pill to increase libido in women. It may just require few alterations in one's lifestyle if it is not caused by some medical factor. Changes which make one happier and stress free will be most beneficial. A woman may be stressed out regarding her physical appearance like weight, work load or other daily hassles. One should break from the daily routine and give some time to herself. Pamper yourself with a spa treatment, massage or just a relaxing bath once in a while. Depression and an unhealthy state of mind will not help overcome this condition, so it is important to be in a healthy state of mind. Exercising your body will not only help you feel fit and better about your body, it will also increase your stamina which will enhance your libido. Performing pelvic exercises can help you strengthen the pelvic muscles which in turn will enhance the awareness of your sexual sensations. A Kegel exercise is one such exercise which is quite effective.

It is important for the woman to talk to her partner about her problems and create a better understanding between the two. Once the emotional communication is stronger, physical closeness will follow thereby increasing libido.
