Make a candleholder. Cut off the bottom piece of a taper candle with a knife so that it will fit into the champagne bottle opening. Place the end of the candle into the opening as far as it will go. Tie a piece of decorative ribbon or lace low around the neck of the bottle where it meets the body of the vessel. Display alone or as part of a group. - 2

Create a lighted decoration. Cover a small, dime-sized area, at the back, bottom edge of the bottle with duct tape to keep the glass from breaking when you drill it. While wearing eye protection, drill a 1/2-inch hole through the tape with a glass or drill cutting bit. Feed a string of electric lights through the hole by pushing them into the hole with your fingers. Decorate the outside of the bottle as desired with ribbon, fake fruit or flowers. - 3
