- 1). Understand that Los Angeles is the epitome of urban sprawl, with over 500 square miles residing within the city's borders. Determine which area of the city you will be spending the majority of your time during your trip so that your boutique hotel room will serve as a convenient base of operations.
- 2). Call the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau at (800) 228-2452 or visit their website (see Resources below) to make hotel reservations.
- 3). Stay at the epicenter of it all in the downtown district of Los Angeles. Nearby travel destinations include the Kodak Theatre and Hollywood and Highland Center shopping district. The Standard hotel lives up to its name by setting the standard for boutique hotels in this region of LA.
- 4). Avoid the infamous LA traffic and book a room within walking distance of hip restaurants, shopping and attractions in West Hollywood. The Chamberlain West Hollywood and Mondrian Hotel are great places to pamper yourself (and just maybe spot a celebrity).
- 5). Find a room with a view by staying at a Los Angeles boutique hotel on the beach. The Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica and Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach are excellent choices for beach bums that need to be pampered.
- 6). Check room rates at each prospective hotel and book a room within your budget. Consider looking beyond the borders of LA to suburbs like Pasadena or Burbank to find a deal.
