- 1). Click the Start button and choose "All Programs," "Accessories" and "Paint" to open the program.
- 2). Click the "Paint" button in the top left corner of the screen and choose "Open." Then navigate to the location of your image and double-click it to open it.
- 3). Click the "Home" tab at the top of the screen and choose "Resize" in the "Image" section of the toolbar. This will open the "Resize and Skew" dialog box.
- 4). Click "Percentage" and change the value if you would like to enlarge the image by a certain percentage. For example, "200%" will make the image twice its original size.
- 5). Click the arrows to adjust the horizontal or vertical aspect ratio if you would like to adjust the image to a specific pixel size. Uncheck "Maintain aspect ratio" if you would like to adjust the horizontal and vertical pixel size separately, though this will cause your image to be distorted.
- 6). Click "OK" to save your changes and resize the image.
- 7). Click the "Paint" button and choose "Save as," then choose a file name and location for your file and click "Save." Choosing a new name and location ensures that your original file is not overwritten.
