- 1). Hold your glass or cup upright; shift it slightly so that it is at a 45-degree angle.
- 2). Put your glass under the spigot or tap of the drink, keeping the glass at an angle. Pull the lever or push the drink button so that the drink hits at the top inside of the glass and rolls down the side into the bottom. Pour a drink from a can or bottle the same way -- hold your glass at an angle while you tip the can or bottle and pour the liquid down the inside of the glass.
- 3). Tilt the glass back gradually as you finish pouring the drink until it's completely upright. You will observe just a small layer of foam at the top.
- 1). Place a glass of your carbonated drink and some sort of cooking oil, such as olive oil or vegetable oil, on a table in front of you. Pour a drop of the oil onto the foam in your drink. Use melted butter or cooking spray as a suitable oil substitute.
- 2). Wait 1 to 2 minutes for the foam to start disappearing. By placing oil in the drink, you reduce the surface tension of foam bubbles and cause them to collapse.
- 3). Watch your drink; when the foam disappears enough for your liking, drink your beverage. Use this technique with any carbonated beverage; beer hides the taste of the oil better than other beverages.
