Hi, I'm Mariko. Today, I'm going to show you how to make your own teriyaki glaze. It is so easy and delicious to make your own teriyaki glaze at home. Normally, when you buy a teriyaki glaze at the grocery stores, it has a lot of preservatives and artificial colorings and flavorings, but it only takes a few ingredients and you can make a better version in the comfort of your own home. First, you want a little cup to mix in and then you want to add two tablespoons of sweetener. Today, I'm using brown sugar, but you could use a sugar substitute, agave, honey, whatever you would normally use as a sweetener. Then, I'm going to add one tablespoon of sesame oil; it's what gives the teriyaki sauce a little nutty kick to it. Then, I'm going to add a tablespoon of soy sauce; you could also use a gluten-free variety like tamari as well. Then, I'm going to add two tablespoons of rice wine vinegar. If you don't have rice wine vinegar, you can add regular apple cider or white vinegar. Just add a little extra sugar if you're using a white vinegar. Now, I'm just going to mix everything together until blended. You can always add a little bit of fresh ginger or a little fresh garlic if you want an extra bite to your teriyaki sauce. This is Mariko showing you how to make your own teriyaki glaze. Enjoy!
