- 1). Make people aware of your project. The best way to do this is to place a poster explaining what you're trying to do on every community noticeboard. Use photos and make sure the poster is in color. Make smaller versions of the poster and leave them wherever you can as fliers.
- 2). Establish a presence on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Update regularly to make sure people know what's going on with the project. Establishing a podcast is another excellent way of raising the profile of the project. Use an external microphone and free audio editing software such as Audacity to produce good, consistent audio files.
- 3). Talk to your local Council and ask for their Community Liaison Office. Press contacts are equally vital. Write a press release to send to local newspapers, radio and TV stations and news sites. Look at the sites for the addresses of individual writers, and contact them.
