- 1). Find a jump that throws you slightly upward. Just as important, the jump should have a sloped landing. A flat landing is harder on the body.
- 2). Hit the jump at a comfortable speed. You can perform a "heli" at very slow or very fast speeds. Pick an approach speed that's comfortable for you.
- 3). Rotate your head in the direction of your spin as you hit the jump.
- 4). Throw your arms in the same direction as your head, with one arm moving across your body and the other falling behind.
- 5). Plant your chin against your shoulder to continue rotating.
- 6). Spot the landing.
- 7). Bring your hips and legs around.
- 8). Absorb the landing by bending your knees and ankles.
