- 1). Arrange the sofa in front of a dark or cream wall. Busily patterned wallpaper will be too much with the antique sofa. Keep it simple.
- 2). Look for cut-glass lamps and vases to catch the color of the sofa when the room is lit. Fill the vases with calla lillies, white or pink roses or other pale-colored flowers.
- 3). Hang an abstract painting with a touch of red in it. Try to match it to the color of your antique sofa; it will help pull the room together. Put it on the wall directly behind the couch.
- 4). Hang black or cream Roman shades on the windows and frame all of your pictures and mirrors in black or cream. Work against the shade on your walls when choosing accent colors.
- 5). Flank the antique couch with wooden end tables that match the color of the wood on the antique sofa. Top them with the vases or lamps you selected.
