Local Couple Launches Home Helpers Senior Care Office
Business provides non-medical and personal care to area families
Edmond, OK (February 2, 2009) - With the number of Seniors in the United States expected to reach 76 million by 2030, more and more families are facing the overwhelming responsibility of caring for aging loved ones. This growing need, along with their own desire to make a difference in the lives of those around them, has inspired Glen and Sherri Walls to open a Home Helpers franchise to serve the cites of Edmond, Oklahoma City, Deer Creek, The Village, Nichols Hills, Bethany, Acadia, Warr Acres and the surrounding areas.
"Sherri and I experienced how difficult it can be when caring for an aging loved one," said Glen Walls. "We saw firsthand the positive impact non-medical, in-home personal care can have on an aging Senior's life, allowing them to continue living in the comfort of their own home. I truly believe the services Home Helpers provides will help give families peace of mind knowing their loved one is receiving exceptional care and companionship."
Home Helpers is a growing national franchise based on offering companionship and other personal services for aging adults, new mothers and others needing assistance to continue living independently in the place they call home. The company provides in-home services on an hourly, daily or weekly basis with tailored packages customized to an individual's needs. Services include companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, transportation, laundry, recreational activities and more. We are also licensed to provide personal care including bathing, grooming, walking, changing etc..
"Often, a full-time nurse or medically trained professional isn't necessary to keep an aging parent or recuperating family member in their own home," explained Sherri Walls. "You just need someone to care for your loved one and provide companionship and/or personal care during the times that a family member can't be there. That being said, our entire staff is committed to treating each client with the respect and dignity they deserve. We view each client that we care for as an extension of our own family."
Glen and Sherri both reside in Edmond, OK. Glen has 23 years of management, marketing and telecommunications experience. He received his Masters of Business Administration from Southern Nazarene University. Sherri currently is an accounting instructor at Rasmussen College and has worked in education for more than 7 years. Sherri received her Master's of Business Administration from Bellevue University. Glen and Sherri are active in the Edmond Chamber of Commerce and small business networking groups.
