Changing your eating habits is one of the most difficult transitions that you will make.
Therefore, I really want to encourage you to take it to the Bible.
Romans 12:1 says, "I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable sacrifice.
What you put in your body is critically important.
If you follow these simple methods, you will be able to follow a systematic plan to change your eating habits.
1.
Make the decision before God, that you are worthy of the best.
God wants you to always give yourself.
If you try to do this without God, it may last for a while but soon or later it will not last.
2.
Write it down.
Habakkuk 2:2 says, "Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
" When you write it down, you will have something to go back to and get you back on track so that you can vision the goal.
3.
Tell somebody that will hold you accountable in love.
When you give your word, you must stand by your word.
When you have integrity, you will hold yourself much more responsible.
4.
Make small changes at a time.
Do not try to make too many changes at a time.
Take your time and do not rush.
Accept the small victories that you surpass and know that the next victory is on the way.
5.
Reduce the amount of fast food that you consume.
Fast food will fill you up for a while, but has a lack of substance to sustain you.
Therefore, you will be more likely to eat more and consume more calories.
6.
Keep a eating journal.
This does not mean that you have to track every single morsel of food or drink that you put in your mouth.
However, it must be specific enough so that you have a accurate representation of what you are eating on a regular basis.
7.
Take time to slow down and enjoy your food.
When you rush, you are more likely to eat more than necessary.
The slower that you eat, the less you will eat.
However, you will be able to know when you are full.
8.
Make eating healthy fun by trying new recipes and a variety of spices and herbs.
Eating healthy can really taste good.
9.
Do not rely on the infomercials to your means of what is and is not considered to be healthy.
10.
Be careful of what you drink, remember a lot our calories are in juices, specialty drinks, etc.
No one said that changing your eating habits was going to be easy, but it is a plan.
You must have a plan to get to the goal.
You must always remember, Philippians 4:13 which says, "I can do all things through Christ Jesus which strengthens me.
