Google forcing SEO to improve

Investing in search engine optimization, or as the advertising industry so affectionately refers to it, SEO, is becoming more and more vital for small businesses in Utah to thrive in an increasingly digital world. SEO helps people find goods and services on Google and the better the SEO, the higher the Utah business appears on Google's hierarchy. Google has changed the way people do almost everything, from simply finding information, to finding places, to finding businesses and it is still evolving. Now Google is changing the way they operate and SEO will be forced to adapt or die.

The old ways of Google are gone in an effort to bolster the quality of content in searches. So much has been done with SEO that advertising agencies are systematically churning out articles, lists, blogs and stories with no substance. Up until now, it has been a shear numbers game, but Google is putting their gargantuan foot down to end the relentless SEO vomit that is flooding the web. This is good for Google, it's good for the web searcher but it's bad news for advertising agencies and small businesses.

Google is continually looking for ways to stop mindless articles from clogging up searches and providing Google users with nothing worth finding. Google is trying to eliminate the garbage by no longer tolerating paid links, unoriginal content and articles jammed with pointless keywords. SEO firms will have to adopt by providing higher quality content and that will certainly come with a premium price.

As SEO continues to evolve in Utah, it becomes more closely related to marketing and advertising, as opposed to busy work that small businesses are outsourcing and forgetting about. It is becoming more important to keep content updated and relevant. It is no longer about quantity. Instead, it is about quality — and quantity. Small businesses should be keeping a close eye on the firms that they are paying to pump out content and place a higher amount of accountability on these firms in Utah. Therefore, small businesses need to research their SEO firms, paying attention to their ability to produce quality content, rather than throw money away on the promise of massive content volume — and charging out the wazoo for it. No matter the volume of the content, if it isn't high quality, it isn't optimizing a Utah business on Google

SEO is still an important part of marketing in Utah and it still shows more promise of returns than most marketing tactics. It's just that SEO is evolving and it might be time for companies in Utah to re-evaluate their means of content production.
