I had suffered with acne since I was a teenager. When I hit my 20s, I assumed my face would calm down like all my friends, but it just didn't happen. To say it was embarassing to find myself having acne flareups in my 40s is an understatement. I tried a lot of different methods for clearing up my skin and ended up settling for pro-active, but I found it less than ideal. I still had major breakouts, but they weren't as severe.
I'm really into reading blogs and I ran across this article concerning natural methods to clear up zits. I had noticed that my skin, even the parts of it that didn't have acne, always looked dry and dull, but I just assumed that was a part of aging. But what I learned was that the harsh chemicals we're putting on our faces actually SPEEDS UP the aging process of our face!
I didn't want to spend any money, so I used the blog's natural honey tip: I put organic honey on my skin twice a day for twenty minutes. Though this certainly didn't fix my acne problem completely, within a week my face looked better than it had in years! I had to stop using the honey so often after about two weeks though, because I started to have a rash type reaction. I found that if I put honey on my face twice a week for 20 minutes I still had a marked benefit, but without the nasty rash.
I was so impressed that I could finally look somewhat normal that I started to wonder if perhaps I could look even BETTER if I learned more about natural methods for getting my face clear. I bought a book outlining ways I could change my life (diet and such) and have it reflected in my face. I followed it step by step and within a month I was only having a pimple or two a week! This may not seem like a lot, but for someone who usually has her entire face covered, let me tell you, it was a BIG deal. I think the book I bought was this acne solution, but you might want to double check with the blog I linked above to make sure I'm remembering correctly.
Good luck! I'm going out tonight for the first time since puberty without a speck of makeup!
