- 1). Roll out 1 oz. of orange polymer clay, using a rolling pin, into a sheet that measures 1/4 inch thick.
- 2). Punch out a 1 inch circle from the clay sheet using a circular cookie cutter.
- 3). Draw out eyes, a nose and a jack-o-lantern mouth onto one side of the pumpkin using the tip of a toothpick.
- 4). Poke a hole into the pumpkin form using the tip of the toothpick. Position the hole so that it is 1/8 inch from the edge, anywhere along the circle. Smooth down the edges of the hole using the toothpick.
- 5). Place the pumpkin form onto a cookie tray, and bake it in a 200 degree F. oven for 10 minutes. Let the pumpkin cool for 30 minutes.
- 6). Paint the eyes, nose and mouth of the pumpkin using black acrylic paint. Let the paint dry for 20 minutes, then paint the entire pumpkin using clear acrylic glaze. Let the pumpkin dry for an additional 20 minutes.
- 7). Cut a piece of medium-gauge craft wire, using wire cutters, to measure 1 inch long. Insert the wire into the hole on the pumpkin, then bend the wire into a loop using needle-nosed pliers.
- 8). Wind a key ring around the wire loop to complete the Halloween key ring.
