Karrie Webb began the final day of the 2011 HSBC Women's Masters looking up at Japan's Chie Arimura. But the roles would be reversed by the end of the final round at Singapore's Tanah Merah Country Club. The word club reminds me of the cheap callaway x24 irons. , there are large quantities of golf drivers on sale. Titleist 909 D3 Driver is one of them.
It is a 440cc, high performance titanium driver with a full pear profile that produces mid launch with low spin, balanced for trajectory and control. A CNC milled face with thicker, centrally located trapezoidal rings is surrounded by thinner areas to maximize ball speed across the face. The shaped sole provides chassis strength, reduces vibration and tunes the impact acoustics for solid feel and better sound. An extended, full pear profile provides playability through a deep CG for stability while maintaining shot workability and control and an integral titanium hosel design saves weight, provides solid feel and allows for more shaft options.
Overnight leader Arimura tried to cement her place at the top on Sunday. She hit a second shot that landed next to the flag, and picked up a birdie on the par-four 10th from there.
But nothing Arimura did could fend off red-hot Karrie Webb. The Australian finished a run of four straight birdies with this putt on 14, to take a two-shot lead.
Webb's bogey on fifteen dropped her back into a tie for the top with Arimura, but she retook sole possession of the lead with her sixth and final birdie of the day on 16.
Arimura remained a stroke back on the 18th. She needed to hole this long birdie putt to force a play-off. She came up short...and put Webb on the brink of a victory.
Webb tapped-in for par and won the HSBC Women's Champions by one shot, with a final round of 69, and a 13-under total overall. It's the 36-year-old Webb's 37th career LPGA title
Donald to face Kaymer in All-European final
Elsewhere...England's Luke Donald will meet Martin Kaymer in the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona. Donald got off to a great start in his last-four match against Matt Kuchar...and there was not much Kuchar could do as the Englishman stayed hot with accurate putting.
The 33-year-old's fifth birdie at the ninth hole put him six-up at the turn. He went on to wrap up a six-and-five victory at the 13th.
Donald will meet Ryder Cup teammate Kaymer in the final.
The German entered his semi knowing that a win would see him replace Englishman Lee Westwood at the top of the world rankings.
Kaymer went two-up at the 16th, and eventually sealed a second straight one-up win. It will all come down to Kaymer and Donald for the title.
