Gadget Exchange Game - A Great Way to Trade Kitchen Gadgets

Do you have gadgets in your kitchen that you don't like, haven't used in a long time, or no longer have any use for? The old saying "one man's junk is another's treasure" also holds true in the kitchen. If you don't process strawberries anymore, someone else could make great use of that strawberry huller - leaving room in the drawer, for the gadget you've always wanted!

I've come up with a game that would add great fun to an annual cookie exchange or a wedding shower.

Follow the rules below, and have fun with it.

What's the risk? Nothing! Since you didn't want your gadget anyway - you've nothing to lose. What's to gain? One you do like or have need of. There is no cost to play, nothing to buy.

There should be no consideration of the value of your gadget, since an item of no use to you, is valued at zero! Actually, ugly, partially worn gadgets just add more fun to the game.

Gadget Exchange Game
  • Each guest brings a (non-electric)kitchen gadget they do not want or use, for whatever reason.
  • On arrival, each person adds their name to a 'drawing' basket. Have small papers and pens ready for this purpose.
  • Gadgets are placed on display, amid remarks like: 'What's that?', or "I want one of those!".
  • Game begins when names are drawn, and guests pick a gadget from the display, until all names and gadgets are gone.
  • You can add a 'surprise' twist to the game by announcing: "Now, pass your gadget to the person on the right (or left)."
Object of the Game

Everyone gets a 'new' gadget to try out!

And if someone doesn't like theirs - they can always keep it to bring to their next Gadget Exchange!
