- 1). Measure the height, length and width of your speaker box. Record these measurements.
- 2). Unroll the automotive carpet on a flat surface, with the carpeted side down. Transfer the measurements from the speaker onto the back of the carpet, using a pencil to mark out the measurements. Cut the carpet along the pencil marks, pressing down firmly on the knife to cut all the way through the material.
- 3). Spray the back of the carpet with a spray adhesive and allow it to sit for approximately 30 seconds, and then press one side of the speaker box onto the carpet. Fold the remaining carpet around the other sides of the box, smoothing them down with your palm to produce a secure bond and eliminate air bubbles.
- 4). Trim away any excess carpet once you've covered each side of the box. Add a little extra adhesive around the edges to make sure the carpet stays secure.
- 5). Cut the carpet away from the speaker holes, running the knife around the edge of the speaker hole to make a clean cut. Remove any carpet remnants from the inside of the box, and allow it to rest undisturbed for at least 24 hours to allow the glue to dry before use.
