Afraid to Meditate? It"s Easier Than You May Think

There are some common complaints that I hear when I'm teaching people to meditate such as 'All I see is black" or "Nothing happens" or "I didn't get anything from it" or 'My mind always wanders and I don't hear the guided meditation.
" I think anyone who has meditated has had some of these complaints, but it only our perception that something is not happening.
Remember God is always listening to us.
We need to learn to listen to God.
So how can you meditate and have a pleasant experience? Just relax and stop controlling the way you think it should be.
Allow yourself to be quiet, listen and let it unfold...
First of all, there are no "right" or "wrong" ways to you meditate.
You will discover the best method for you.
I keep my process very simple.
When I first started, many moons ago, I saw only black blotches and I thought that was the way it was suppose to be.
I didn't see wonderful colours, lights, angels and visions of places with people and animals or other symbols.
I only saw black so I would just sit and enjoy the silence.
It took awhile for me to feel comfortable 'in silence', but soon I created a place where I started to ask questions, such as, "What is the best way for me to move forward?" Then I'd listen for an answer.
Soon I started to hear a reply and I started writing what I heard and I was amazed how my pen seemed to take off and write in a scribbling handwriting.
The answers had 'ye' and 'doth' in them and I do not speak that way so they got my attention.
I learned how to breathe and relax my body before mediating and how to open my chakras (energy centres) to allow Universal Light to move fully through my consciousness and body.
I began to create a quiet, serene place within where my spiritual awareness of whom I am began to grow.
After many meditations, my darkness changed as I began to see sparkles of light and coloured lights and eventually a whirling white-golden light that I moved towards.
This whirling light led me into different scenes.
Sometimes I'd see people dancing.
Other times I seem to be in a different century.
Each time was different.
I also met a figure called Rashna who resembled an old monk in a flowing white gown.
Each meditation became a form of art where I would see different pictures.
I created a peaceful place where I could ask for guidance, give thanks for my blessings, and began to experience a sense of peace within.
My meditations still leave me in awe and wonder.
I have received thousands of awesome messages - some I share and others I do not.
Meditation creates a place where I meet my Divine Self and to create an intimate relationship with Christ and ultimately our Creator, God.
It is in meditation that I experience the love of God and the power of the Universal Light that flows through us and then out into my world.
I have received many messages of wisdom from nature and my surroundings as I walk or sit outside.
I learned that each plant and animal are carriers of wisdom as the reveal spiritual attributes such as patience, laughter and trust.
Meditation opens our hearts so we may receive wisdom and love from other people each day.
It has taught me that we are all connected and are One in each eternal moment.
Life is a wonderful, fascinating gift.
In tough economic times or times of tragedy or illness, meditation can bring you back in harmony with your inner self and your Divine connection.
It changes your perspective so you may experience true love no matter what is happening in our outer world.
When you are at peace, it assists others as they respond to your compassion, your harmony and stillness.
As you learn to relax and be still, listen for guidance in your meditations.
You will receive your answers and then it is up to you to act by taking steps to move towards your dream.
Trust.
It will all unfold in a Divine way.
You are always loved and protected.
