How to Remove the Vent Cap From a Camp Trailer's Roof

1). Remove the trim screws and trim from the interior of the roof vent.
2). Remove the hinge pins and screws from the cover with a pair of flat-nosed pliers and unscrew and remove the crank handle.
3). Remove the vent cover, trim screws and trim from the exterior of the camper roof.
4). Chisel the silicone caulking from around the vent and trim.
5). Remove the vent and cut the wiring to the fan. Strip 1/2-inch from the ends of the electrical wires, and twist the ends of the fan and ceiling wires around each other. Twist wire covers over both ends.
6). Place the new vent in the ceiling cavity, secure with mounting screws and apply a layer of silicone caulk around the perimeter.
7). Replace the trim and trim screws on the interior and exterior of the vent. Replace the crank handle. Place the cover against the hinges and insert the hinge screws.
