- 1). Visit the Daily Report newspaper website. Georgia lenders must post a legal notice in the county legal organ. A legal organ is a newspaper selected by county officials to post required legal notices. The Daily Report is the Fulton County legal organ as of 2010. Fulton County is the county for Atlanta.
- 2). Select "Legal Ads" in the "Public Notices" section from the home page of the newspaper. Look for the "Mortgage Foreclosure" and "Judicial Sale--Real Property" links. The listings of mortgage foreclosures contain non-judicial sales of residential and commercial foreclosures. A non-judicial sale occurs without a lawsuit but requires a legal notice. Lenders rarely use judicial foreclosures in Georgia, but the section on judicial sales contains a small number of additional Atlanta foreclosures.
- 3). Click on the links in each section to see the Fulton County and Atlanta foreclosure listings. Lenders must publish the legal notice of each foreclosure for four weeks. Read the descriptions of the properties in each listing. The listings do not specifically categorize the properties as residential or commercial. However, most of the listings contain a street address you can use to visit the property. Get the auction date and time in each listing.
