Stepping Up Your DJ Game With WiMax

While back in the day, it might have been bands that ruled the airwaves and the stages and clubs across the country, now DJs are starting to grab all of the attention.
And in a world where more people tote around laptops and experience guitar playing only through "Guitar Hero," it makes sense that DJing is starting to become the new being in a band.
And the availability of different software and MIDI controllers means that more than a couple of long-haired hipsters in the local coffeeshop with headphones on are likely puttering around on Ableton rather than just surfing the web via wireless internet.
But the truth is that the mobility of technology is one of the reasons that it is actually feasible to be a DJ these days.
For one thing, not everyone is able to spend thousands of dollars on records and obscure 12 inch singles.
Now, it's possible to do some virtual crate digging online, either with all of the different specific music blogs out there, or through sites like TurntableLab and BeatPort, where it is easy to download high-quality mp3s to digitally DJ with--or to burn to CD for use with the latest hot CDJs, like the Pioneer 1000s.
And things like WiMax, which makes getting online from anywhere a breeze, means that being able to download a track right when inspiration strikes actually possible.
While that might not be as compelling for the sort of DJ who is used to playing at home, for anyone who is a working DJ or is starting to get big in the club, the idea of WiMax is actually a step in the right direction towards a better method for spinning.
Forgot that there was one track you were absolutely dying to try out tonight? If you're the sort of DJ who is only using records, you aren't going to be able to get online to scoop it up in a couple of minutes, but if you're using a fast-enough computer--which you should have already, since you're DJing--you'll be able to get online and grab something quickly.
Only in most clubs or lounges, you're not going to be able to find a strong wireless signal.
And if the wireless is spotty or stuttering, then you might end up with an incomplete file--which would be a total bomb on the dance floor.
But with the reliable portability of high-speed internet with WiMax, you can rest assured that you will be able to connect from rooftops, art galleries, and luxury hotels around the country, and will have the song that you're dying for in mere minutes.
So if you're the sort of DJ or aspiring DJ who is always looking towards the latest developments and technology, realize that there's more to the game than just throwing in a couple of different preset sounds and beat matching.
For a truly creative set, you need to have access to a vast array of songs.
And sometimes, being able to quickly download the right MP3 can make things or break things.
So consider WiMax a new innovation in technology that is just as helpful for DJing as being able to still spin with programs like Serato.
After all, combining the best of old and new technology is the right way to get things done.
