Kid Rock "Born Free" Tour Dates 2011

Kid Rock will be starting his "Born Free" tour on january 15th 2011. Kid Rock will kick off with a concert at the Ford Field in Detroit Michigan. His tour will take him across the United States hitting major cities along the way before ending at the Fedex Forum in Memphis, TN on March 12th. There will be a total of 28 (currently) tour dates.

With his eighth album, Kid Rock has done something he's threatened to do for years: slipped fully into classic-rock mode. Born Free has the Skynyrd guitar attack, the Leon Russell- style gospel backup singers, some fire-down-below boogie from Rock's Detroit godfather, Bob Seger (who adds his blessing with the piano part on "Collide"). The trippy, pinwheeling guitars of the closing "For the First Time (In a Long Time)" even drift into — I kid you not — Grateful Dead territory. The record kicks off with "Born Free," an upbeat tribute to the 14th Amendment, and also the album's first single. The tune blends country-style acoustic riffs, piano keys and a solid classic rock hook with Kid Rock's strong and varied vocal performance. The result is a patriotic anthem worthy of halftime shows at football games and Independence Day concerts.

This album will be featured on Kid Rock's tour in 2011. We're sure to hear new songs from this album such as "For the First Time In a Long Time" and "Born Free".

Though Born Free is filled with deep ballads, the most meaningful is "Care," a beautiful song about the average man's attitude toward global issues. Halfway through, a short verse by rapper T.I. blends seamlessly into the chorus, which is a duet sung by Kid Rock and Martina McBride.

We can expect to see special guest Jamey Johnson when Kid Rock plays at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO. We will probably see many more guests the kick off day at Ford Field. Kid Rock will be adding more dates later in the year so keep posted and check his schedule for updates.
