There are two main effective approaches to Potty Training your dog.

This form of Potty Training is called "Crate Training" because it involves the use of a "Crate" or a Dog Kennel.
In Crate Training, we are executing to the following two principles.
This means that your dog will sleep in the Crate as well.
In Crate Training, we are operating under the theory that your dog does not like to sleep wherever she "relieves herself".
Since the Crate also functions as her "sleeping quarters", she will instinctively "hold-it" for the duration that she is in the Crate - provided you don't leave her in there too long.
Whenever you let your dog out of the Crate, you need to quickly move to get out to the "Designated Toilet Area" outside - or you'll be sorry!!
In Crate Training, we are controlling the timing as to when your dog "relieve herself" by the times we confine her to the crate and whenever we let her out of the Crate.

You should choose "Crate Training", if any of the following points apply to you and your dog.
You have a Medium to Large Size Dog
Actually, Crate Training can be used for dogs of all sizes.
However, Paper Training is not recommended for Medium to Large-Size dogs.
These types of dogs generate entirely too much waste-material for you and your newspaper to handle.
You have a sufficient amount of time-freedom/flexibility to devote to supervising your dog during this training
