- Go to your local dealership and ask them to pull up your warranty information. You can even call or send them an email with your VIN number to have them look up the information. Service departments have access to manufacture sites that can tell them when your vehicle was sold, how many months are left on your warranty or how many miles are left until your warranty expires.
- You can use websites, such as CarFax.com, to see when your car was originally purchased and it will also give you an estimate on how much warranty is left on your vehicle. CarFax.com gathers information, letting you know the original warranty of your car's year, make and model. The service gives you an estimate based on the last mileage reported on the vehicle.
- Every car comes with a user's manual and warranty book describing when the vehicle was first inspected and any services performed on it if done at an authorized dealer. It should also tell you how long of a warranty came with the car and, based on the mileage and age of your car, you should be able to figure out how much warranty is remaining.
