  Sainte Genevieve is a city located in the eastern Missouri county of Sainte Genevieve. Known as "Missouri's Most Historic Town," Sainte Genevieve was established in the early 18th century by French-Canadian colonists as the first European settlement in the state, according to the city's website. Today, Sainte Genevieve is best known for the many events held in its historic downtown area, including the French Heritage Festival, held every June, and the Jour de Fete, held in August.
