- 1). Download and install WinRAR (see Resources). Right-click on the file you want to put into a RAR and select "Add to Archive" from the drop-down menu. WinRAR is free for as long as you want to use it, though you will be shown a registration reminder box until you register.
- 2). Download and install 7-ZIP (see Resources). You can add files to an archive and select "RAR" as the format by right-clicking after you install this program. 7-ZIP also lets you use 7z files, which are another kind of archive.
- 3). Install the program WinZIP (see Resources). This program is free to use for a trial period. After the trial period, you'll need to register the full version to continue using the program to send files into ZIP or RAR archives.
