- 1). Scribe two lines across the steel plate that are 5 1/2 inches apart and 1/4 inch away from each 10-inch edge.
- 2). Scribe nine lines that are at right angles to the first pair and space them 1 inch apart so the outside lines are 1/2 inch away from the 6-inch edges of the plate.
- 3). Drill a 1/8-inch diameter hole that's 1/4 inch deep where the lines intersect.
- 4). Place a small dab of epoxy in each hole so only one-quarter of the hole is filled. Insert a rod into each hole and let the epoxy dry according to the instructions on the package.
