- The 1975 CJ-5 offered a choice of three different engines. The 3.8L AMC inline-six engine produced 100 hp at 3,600 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 185 foot-lbs. of torque at 1,800 rpm while the 4.2 L AMC inline-six produced 115 hp at 3,200 rpm and 196 foot-lbs. of torque at 2,000 rpm. The 5.0 L AMC V8 generated 150 hp at 4,200 rpm and 245 foot-lbs. of torque at 2,500 rpm.
- The CJ-5 used the same tub and frame design from model years 1955 to 1975. From model years 1976 to 1983, the CJ-5 featured a redesigned tub, frame and windshield, making these model's soft tops incompatible with the the original CJ-5.
- The 1975 CJ-5 Renegade is held in high esteem among collectors and came equipped with standard 5.0 L AMC V8 engine, alloy wheels, Trac-lock limited slip differential and special badging and decals.
