- May is ideal for beach camping on any island. Campgrounds offer showers, picnic tables, grills and pavilions, along with swimming, snorkeling and parks.
- On the island of Kauai is an 11-mile hike along a remote coastline called Na Pali, accessible only by boat or on foot. On the picturesque shore, tourists may glimpse dolphins, sea turtles and whales.
- Tunnels Beach is on the north shore of the island of Kauai. It gets the name from its tunnel-shaped waves and the tunnels and lava tubes along its inner and outer reef. Tunnels Beach is a prime location for diving, snorkeling, advanced surfing, advanced kite boarding and watching the sunset.
- On the north shore of the island of Oahu is the Dole Plantation. Tourists can take a train ride through pineapple fields and sample fresh pineapple. They can also try not to get lost in the Pineapple Maze, the largest maze in the world.
- On the island of Maui is a 40-mile road perfect for mountain biking. Points of interest include Charles Lindbergh's grave, lush valleys, ocean cliffs and, perhaps, wild pigs. A store along the path offers drinks and snacks.
