Hero Splendor Vs. Hero Passion Pro - Best Performers From the Same Family

Every once in a while there comes a couple of vehicles from the same maker, which are great performers in every manner. Hero, the world's largest bike maker has managed to bring out winning bikes one after another, so that the Indian bike buyers enjoy the best rides possible. Of the numerous bikes that are introduced in the market, few go on to become best sellers.

Hero Splendor and Passion Pro are two such best sellers from Hero. Splendor is one of the bikes with a long history to its credit. It is a model that came into being when Hero and Honda were partners in bike making. A highly successful model ever since its launch, the Splendor has continued its legacy under the Hero brand. Passion Pro, though a newer entrant, has also done justice to the fame of its maker.

Here is a comparison of the two. Factors like price, mileage and engine capacity are considered in detail for the purpose.
Price - The Splendour range of bikes from Hero are available for an ex-showroom price of INR 43550/- to 51,250/-. On the other hand, the Passion PRO comes for a price tag of INR 48850/- to 50850/- (ex-showroom).

Engine Specifications - Hero Splendour is powered by a 97.2 cc, Air-cooled, 4-stroke single cylinder, OH engine, which churns a peak power of 7.5 PS and 7.95 Nm of torque. Alternately, the Passion PRO runs on a 97cc air-cooled single cylinder HF Down engine, which is capable of generating a maximum power of 7.8 PS at 7500 RPM and a top torque of 8.04 Nm at 4500 RPM.

Mileage - Hero Splendour offers an average mileage of more than 70 kmpl. Passion Pro too, returns a mileage close to 70 kmpl. It has a slightly higher fuel tank capacity of 13 liters, as compared to the 11 liters of Splendor. With the good mileage figures that these bikes are offering, it is sure that the tripsto the fuelling station is kept to the minimum.

Other Features - Passion Pro can achieve a top speed of 90 kmph, while the Splendor is capable of speeding in 100 kmph. Both speeds are quite good on the Indian road conditions, which may prove fatal in higher speeds. Both bikes offer both Kick and Electric Start options. The Passion Pro is available in seven different colors too.

Since both bikes are tied on almost all parameters, it is really a tough ask to choose the best among them. However, it can be concluded that if you are looking for no nonsense commuter bike, you can go for Splendor. Conversely, if you are looking for some style and extra features, go for Passion Pro.
