- Scoring comes in a variety of ways. Five points are given for kicking a field goal of sorts through goal posts built as extension to a soccer goal, which has a goalie defending iy -- think of a soccer goal with horns. Three points are awarded for a ground ball kicked into the soccer goal past the goalie. One point is awarded for running or throwing a ground ball over the goal line, like a touchdown.
- The only players with special rules are the goalies, the only players allowed in the goal box, or for indoor play on the goalie mat. The goalie may pick the ball up at any time when it is within the goalie box, as other players may only kick it. Once the ball is picked up, though, the goalie's flag belt can be pulled to stop his advance, as long as he is out of the goal box.
- Minor violations include illegal use of hands, pushing, a hand ball, or intentional pulling of the flags by a player who doesn't have the ball. The penalty for these infractions is indirect kicks off the ground for an opponent. Violations may also entail unsportsmanlike conduct, delay of game, or dangerous penalties, which can hurt members of the other team. These infractions give the opponent a "free play," and players are allowed to run, pass or shoot the ball without any interference or defense.
