- 1). Purchase a child-sized pinstripe suit, with tails if possible. If you cannot find a pinstripe suit, use a black one and draw the pinstripes with a white fabric marker.
- 2). Purchase a pair of child-sized skeleton gloves.
- 3). Draw a bat on black poster board with a white marker. It will form the bow tie, so it should have a small body and wide wings. Cut out the bat and glue it to a safety pin or old brooch.
- 4). Paint a stiff ball white using a paintbrush. The ball should be large enough that it can be comfortably worn as a mask.
- 5). Cut a neck hole in the bottom of the ball, and two eye holes in the front.
- 6). Paint on two round eyes (incorporating the eye holes), two nostril slits and a long, toothy grin. The grin can be a simple line with crosshatches to form the teeth. Use black paint for all of these.
- 7). Apply some black makeup around your child's eyes to make them harder to see through the holes of the mask.
- 8). Dress your child in the suit, mask, gloves and bow tie with a white dress shirt and black shoes and socks.
