- 1). Download and install the latest version of iTunes on your computer, following the installation instructions detailed on the Apple website. Launch iTunes once installation is complete by clicking its icon on the desktop.
- 2). Connect the iPhone to the computer using the USB cable. ITunes will detect the iPhone and add it to the "Devices" list in the left hand column.
- 3). Select the iPhone from the "Devices" list and open the "Summary" tab in the main iTunes window.
- 4). Click the "Restore" button. The iPhone's screen will turn black and the Apple logo will be displayed while the restore is in progress.
- 5). Select "Set Up As New" when prompted by iTunes after the restore process has completed. A new version of the operating system will be installed, repairing the software fault that has caused the touchscreen calibration issue.
