- 1). Find your favorite scarf and hold each end using both hands. Toss the middle of the scarf around the back of your neck while still hanging onto the ends. Adjust both ends of the scarf, so they are even when flat against your chest.
- 2). Pull the right side of your scarf over the opposite side. Now, the two ends of the scarf will be crossing one another. Keep the point where they go over one another close to your neck, if you are folding for warmth. This will help keep cool air from your throat.
- 3). Take the opposite end of the scarf and fold it over the side you first crossed. Now, the two ends will be twisted around one another. Make sure to keep the twisting area tight for warmth. Regardless, keep a firm grip on both ends of the scarf.
- 4). Position the side that you just moved in the last step behind the twist and bring it up to the opening near your neck. Pull this end through the opening and allow it to drop over the front side of the scarf.
- 5). Tug on the opposing ends of the scarf to tighten the fold to your liking. For colder days, a firm fold is best. If the fold is too tight and uncomfortable, use your fingers to pull the fold away from your neck and loosen it.
