- 1). Locate a dive company in Mission Beach. Make sure the dive company holds all of the relevant certifications at its operation to ensure it's legitimacy. Establish also whether the company provides pick-ups and the dive trip conditions.
- 2). Choose your dive experience. If you are not certified and just want to try diving, you can ask for a scuba-experience dive. If you would like to gain your entry-level certification, try the Open Water Diver course. Certified divers can chose from taking day dive trips or taking higher-level courses to become more experienced.
- 3). Choose the dive site you would like to dive if given the choice. Make sure that you select a dive site suitable for your experience with regard to depth and current. The dive center should be able to assist you with local knowledge and advice.
- 4). Undergo fitting with rental equipment for the dive if you do not already own equipment. Remember to ensure that all of the equipment fits properly. Ensure that the wetsuit is the correct thickness for the water temperatures in Australia. A 3 mm wetsuit should be suitable. Additionally check that the Buoyancy Control Device jacket fits over the top of the wetsuit.
