- 1). Fill a spray bottle with warm water. Spray a 1-foot section of the border, starting in a corner. Let the water soak into the wallpaper for 10 minutes.
- 2). Insert a plastic scraper under the wallpaper, gently prying it up from the wall. The water should loosen the adhesive enough to allow you to easily remove the border.
- 3). If the warm water did not loosen the adhesive enough to pry it up, dampen a sponge with household vinegar. Press the sponge onto the wallpaper border. Let the vinegar sit for 5 minutes, then insert the plastic scraper under the border and pry it up.
- 4). Continue spraying or sponging down the length of the wallpaper border, prying up the wallpaper in 1 foot sections until you remove all of it. Insert the scraper from the bottom of the border up to the top of the border as you go.
- 5). Rinse the sponge and dampen it with warm water. Wipe down the wall where the border was to remove any adhesive residue.
