- 1). Power on your HTC G1 phone. Wait until the screen appears that says "Touch the Android to Begin."
- 2). Tap on the upper-left corner of the screen, then tap the upper-right corner of the screen.
- 3). Tap on the lower-right corner of the screen just above the "Emergency Call" and "Change Language" buttons, then tap on the lower-left corner of the screen. Don't press the buttons, but rather tap just above the buttons.
- 4). Use the non-Google features on the phone. You will see the Android home screen with the basic applications that come with a new phone. If you access any of the Google applications, you will be prompted to sign in with a Google Account. You can make phone calls, browse the Internet, send and receive non-Google email, and send text messages on your G1 without signing in with a GMail account.
