- 1). Record a 20-second audio clip using a digital recording or sampling something from one of your favorite songs on your computer. The clip can be in any major format, such as MP3 or WMA.
- 2). Title the audio file “TextAlert” and save the file to your desktop.
- 3). Open your email inbox and create a new email.
- 4). Type “XXXX@vzwpix.com” in the “To” field, highlight “XXXX” and type your phone number.
- 5). Select “Add Attachment,” select the “TextAlert” file saved to your desktop and click “OK.”
- 6). Click “Send” to send the audio file as an attachment to your phone.
- 7). Select “Read” on your Motorola Razr to read the multimedia file. The audio clip plays on your Razr.
- 8). Select “Options,” scroll down and select “Send to” and choose “My Sounds.” The file is converted to AAC for your Razr and will appear in your “My Sounds” menu for use as a ringtone for either text or call alerts.
