- 1). Wash a baby food, jelly or salsa jar and the coordinating lid thoroughly with soap and warm water. Allow the jar to air dry or dry it with a soft cloth.
- 2). Cover the top of the lid with a coat of white craft paint using a small brush. Allow the paint to dry.
- 3). Spread a layer of white craft glue over the top of the painted lid, including the rim.
- 4). Cut a small piece of any color craft felt with scissors. Set the lid, glue-side down, onto the felt and press down to secure it; repeat this process if the felt absorbs the first layer of glue. Cut away the excess felt from around the lid using scissors.
- 5). Fill the jar with favors, such as jelly bean, gumballs, small toys, marbles or plastic rings. Screw the felt-enhanced lid onto the jar.
- 6). Decorate the lid with a cat face. Create circular shapes using yellow felt and glue them to the lid as the cat's cheeks. Attach small, thin strips of black felt to the top of the cheeks as whiskers. Cut two tiny triangular pieces of yellow or orange felt and glue them to the top of the lid as ears. Complete the craft by gluing on a small pink pom-pom nose and two plastic googly eyes.
