- 1). Go to any online cell phone directory (see resources). It may not be possible for you to trace a Nextel number without paying a fee; so be prepared to spend some money. Some of these websites share some basic information free of charge and charge only for specific details. For instance, they may give out the name of the cell phone number owner for free, while you would have to pay to get more information, such as the address attached to the number.
- 2). Enter the Nextel cell phone number in the search box of the website that you have decided to use.
- 3). Click "OK" or "Enter" to start the search. If the cell phone number is present in the website's database, it will show you the name of the person who owns the phone number. If you do not find the phone you are looking for, move on to the next website. The website doesn't charge you at this point, so if you not get the desired results at one website, you can just try the next one.
- 4). Try at least four or five search directories. Even if you don't get complete results from any of the websites, it is a good idea to accumulate as much free information from different websites as possible. For instance, by using one website you may be able to get hold of the person's name, while using another website may yield the owner's email address. Through his email address, you can contact him and ask for other details, such as postal address. If you do not want to contact the person directly and you are just trying to gather information about him, you can use a paid website to get full information, including name, address, email address, workplace, etc.
